We recommend you bring the following items for your rehab stay:
- You will need appropriate clothing for a one-week stay at Beachway. Laundry facilities are available for your convenience.
- Bring appropriate clothing that is suitable for a treatment facility environment. This includes comfortable clothing but no short shorts, no muscle shirts, no half shirts, no attire with drug or alcohol slogans or reference, and no otherwise offensive clothing.
- Please bring appropriate attire for the beach, swimming, going to the gym, participating in outdoor activities, and fishing.
- Computer and phone use is permitted during specific times.
- No alcohol, non-prescription drugs, or weapons of any kind are allowed on Beachway Treatment Center property.
- All medications are subject to prior approval from clinical staff.
- Nicotine users are welcome to bring a sufficient supply of their preferred products.

What does mental health and addiction recovery entail?

At Beachway Therapy Center, our Recovery Program focuses on the mind, body, and spirit through an integrated approach. Our Foundation Recovery process emphasizes the need for human beings to be accountable and responsible for their own choices, actions, and behaviors. How long is the average stay?
Generally, recovery is for 30-45 days; however, it could be longer because our treatment is individualized. Individuals that require a longer-term treatment program; may be placed in a 90-day program.
Does Beachway accept dual diagnosis clients?
Yes. Dual diagnosis patients have both an alcohol or drug addiction, in addition to an emotional or psychiatric challenge. Full recovery for a person with a dual diagnosis entails addressing both areas. Beachway Therapy Center offers an integrated dual disorder recovery that has been very effective in treating clients that have been struggling with addiction alongside emotional or psychiatric challenges. The dedicated staff at Beachway Therapy Center can assist in identifying recovery goals, learning steps to recovery from both illnesses, and setting a direction plan to aid patients in developing the skills necessary to manage mental health challenges.

What is a patient account, and how is money put into my account?
Our clients that are in a Phase One program are not permitted to carry money while at Beachway. We do, however, set up a client account that enables the purchase of whatever our clients may need, such as cigarettes, extra food, clothing, etc. If you would like to put money into a patient’s account, please contact Beachway Therapy Center for assistance.
Am I able to see a doctor while I am at Beachway?
You can see a doctor and or a Psychiatrist should you need to while you are at Beachway. Our primary focus, however, while you are here with us, is your recovery. Therefore, if it is not imperative that your doctor visit happen urgently or for life-threatening reasons, nor pertinent to your recovery, we encourage that it be postponed until you have completed phase I of your program. Your successful recovery is paramount. Our time together through this process is limited, and we want to make every minute count. Should it be necessary, the co-pay for doctor visits and medications are the responsibility of the client.
Is my family allowed to visit me while I am at Beachway?
Visitation is permitted with clinical approval and will be arranged on an individual basis.
Are families updated on how their loved one is doing while at Beachway?
We make weekly update calls to the appropriate family members, authorized by each client’s therapist. Each client must sign a Release of Information form if they agree to this practice and wish for these calls to be made.
Am I able to make phone calls during my stay?
Yes, phones are available in the residences.
What happens once my treatment process is completed?
Your Beachway Therapy Center primary therapist will create an aftercare plan for you. This action plan includes collaboration and contribution from you, the client, your family, and your treatment team to achieve your best long-term success.
What airport should I fly into?
Beachway Therapy Center clients can fly into Palm Beach International Airport, PBI, or Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport, FLL. As Beachway admits clients 24/7, we encourage you to make morning travel arrangements. Our experience has shown that clients experience less anxiety and fear associated with making this major life decision when they wake up in the morning and travel to the facility. Most clients who back out of treatment usually change their minds out of fear.
